This question was submitted to the community forum.

Details: “ Our Google Business account has been hijacked by an unknown email and the account itself has now had the main details changed.

This has happened before with another older company and is clearly an issue.

Please can someone help, we are the original owner for many years and now all of a sudden the company name, web address and details have changed overnight.

A total hijack and this is out of order as it has all our hard earned reviews on them.”

Answer

If you still have access to the GMB Profile Account

You need to check the “Users” screen (option below “Website” on the left-hand side menu) for the “hijacker” information.

Once you get this information,  report this violation under Google My Business third-party policy here: https://support.google.com/business/contact/gmb_3p_complaints

If you don’t have access to the GMB Profile Account

So you need to reclaim ownership of the profile, check my guide: How To Claim A Business On Google That Is Already Claimed.

Hope it helps.
